Minutes of Zoning Board of Appeals Business Meeting

Vice Chair Drucker called the meeting to order at 8:00 am.  He moved to acknowledge thanking Trevor Pontbriand for his service and dedicated leadership of the ZBA; seconded by Robert Hankey; passed 9-0.

A letter from Mary Giorgio, Town Counsel, requested authorization to execute a sign-off on the Dismissal of Wharf LLC and Betty Balch (Captain Higgins).  Drucker moved to authorize her to sign on behalf of the ZBA; seconded by Putnam, passed 6-0.

Bruce Drucker moved to approve the Executive Session meeting minutes of  4/9/08 as presented; seconded by Vern Jacob; passed 3-0.

Vern Jacob moved to approve the 5/22/08 meeting minutes as presented; seconded by Bruce Drucker; passed 5-0.

Roger Putnam moved to approve the 6/12/08 meeting minutes as presented; seconded by Roger Putnam; passed 5-0.  (Helen Wilson and Tom Reinhart abstained).

Roger Putnam acknowledged Bruce Drucker for the superb job he did with the four appeals regarding 1440 Chequessett Neck Road.  

Robert Hankey moved to nominate Vern Jacob as Chair; seconded by Helen Wilson; passed 9-0.
Robert Hankey moved to nominate Bruce Drucker as Vice Chair; seconded by Vern Jacob; passed 9-0.  Roger Putnam moved to nominate Robert Hankey clerk; seconded by Vern Jacob; passed 9-0.

Chair Jacob stated he would like to see the new Board work together and share opinions in order to continue making good decisions.  

There was discussion regarding the upcoming 40B hearing.  

Discussion took place regarding the appointments made by the Selectmen to the Board.  Jacob stated in the future, he would like all assignments to be from within the Board, notifying the Selectmen of their requests.  
Bruce Drucker moved to adjourn at 8:50 am; seconded by Vern Jacob, passed 8-0.
